Mangaluru: Former Prime Minister H Devegowda arrived in Mangaluru on January 21, to visit the residence of Late Deepak Rao and meet his family members.
JD(S) leader B M Farook also accompanied Devegowda to the residence. It is said that Devegowda became emotional while speaking to the family that had lost its sole breadwinner.
Addressing the media personnel, Devegowda said that he has come to Deepak’s residence to offer condolence to the family. “Right now I will not speak about political issues. I will speak about political matters at the next press meet,” stated the former Prime Minister.
Devegowda also met late Basheer’s family in Kavoor.
It may be recalled that Deepak Rao was brutally murdered at Katipalla on January 3. On the same day, Basheer an innocent individual was attacked in Kottara Chowki in an act to avenge Deepak’s murder, after which he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on January 7.
