Four held for entering temple with footwear in Bantwal

Bantwal: The police arrested four people for entering the Karinja Temple premises without removing their footwear. The incident has hurt the religious sentiments of the devotees here.

According to the sources, police arrested Busher Rehman (20) from Mastikatte Ullal, Ismail Arhamaj (22) from Mukkacheri House, Ullal, Muhammed Tanish (19) from Halekote House Ullal, and Mohammed Rashad (19) from Babbukatte Permannur.

A case was filed under section 295 of the Indian Penal Code at the Punjalkatte Police Station by Vinay Kumar, son of Anand Nayak A., on behalf of the President of the Karinja Temple managing committee, following a video showing the accused entering the temple premises without removing footwear.

The complainant found the video on November 2 and discovered that it had been uploaded on October 7.
