Mangaluru: Nearly four persons sustained injuries after a car collided against a stationary auto rickshaw at the auto parking stand near KMC hospital at Dr Ambedkar circle (Jyothi) late last night.
All the injured were auto rickshaw drivers. One of the injured, Praveen is said to be critical and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital here.
It is gathered that two persons were travelling in a Black Ritz car bearing registration KA 20 P 1812 moving towards Jyothi from Bunts Hostel road when it collided against the auto parked here. Both the vehicles were damaged in the accident, which is believed to be a case of drunken driving.
While the car driver was held his co-passenger fled the spot. The police also found liquor bottles, matchsticks and other items in the car.
A case stands registered at Kadri police station.
