Four students from CFAL qualify for International Olympiads

Mangaluru: “As many as four students undergoing training at Center for Advanced Learning (CFAL) have been selected for the Third Stage of International Level Olympiads(orientation cum selection camps-2018),” said Severine Rosario, Principal of CFAL.

She was addressing a press meet at Center for Advanced Learning (CFAL) , here on Wednesday March 7.

“For the first time in the history of Mangaluru, four have qualified for the selection camp of the International Olympiads” She added.

the students who have been selected for prestigious third stage of Mathematics, Biology and Astronomy Olympiad programme (orientation cum selection camps-2018) are Shreyas Pai of class XI, Anish Hebbar of class XI, Aditya Prakash of class XII, and Prathyush Poduval of II PUC.

Shreyas Pai is one among the 35 students from the country selected in Biology Olympiad. Although Shreyas is pursuing his education in class XI, has competed with class 12 students and has been selected.

Anish Hebbar is one among the 31 student from the country selected in Mathematics Olympiad in the XI standards or lower classes category.

Aditya Prakash had represented our country in the International Math Olympiad at Brazil in 2017 and is he is been select even in this year and he is one among 12 students selected from the country in the XII standard category.

Prathyush Poduval is one among 25 students selected from the country in the XII standard category.

“The selected students are now eligible to attend a three-four week oreientation cum selection camp in Homi Bhaba Center for Science Education & Research in Mumbai. On the basis of aggregate scires in OCSC, the top 4-6 students selected at the end of the camp will represent India at the International Olympiads. They will be accompanied by two teacher leaders and an observer” claimed Severine Rosario.
