Kasaragod;Burglars made a futile bid to rob cash from an ATM at Periya in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The unsuccessful attempt by two masked men wearing jackets is captured on CCTV cameras.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there was no loss of cash from the ATM owned by Canara bank.
Rs 20 lakh cash was loaded onto the ATM machine a week ago and the computer data indicates a withdrawal of Rs 4 lakhs.
Two burglars broke into the ATM at 1.30 am this morning. CCTV footage indicates frustrated masked men wearing jackets breaking the CCTV cameras on their way out.
Locals noticed the broken shutters this morning and informed police, bank officials immediately. Police suspect the involvement of expert duo in the futile burglary bid.
