Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police on Saturday busted a gang of bike thieves, including teenaged students who learnt the tricks of the trade through a YouTube video.
Acting on the several complaints received by bike-owners regarding theft of their bikes from its parking spot a team of police personnel led by inspector, Yogish carried out the arrests and confiscated three bikes and a car from their possession so far. Reportedly five members of the gang, natives of Kerala aged between 16 and 18 are students.
According to the police, the accused had stolen over 25 bikes from various parts of the city in the past three months. In their confession to the police, the gang admitted that they learnt how to unlock motor bikes from a YouTube video.
