Mangaluru: The Anti Rowdy Squad in association with the Ullal police arrested a ganja peddler and seized 1.5 Kg of stash, a motorcycle and a mobile phone from his possession on Sunday, March 17.
The arrested has been identified as Munavar (32), a resident of K C Road, Talapady. Sources from Ullal police station informed that the accused Munavar was loitering in Talapady on Sunday evening. On receiving information, a team of police headed by ACP (South sub-division) Rama Rao and Ullal Inspector Gopikrishna K R rushed to the spot and detained the accused. They stash and articles seized are worth about Rs 2 Lakh.
During the interrogation, the accused Munavar informed the police that he was procuring ganja from Kerala and peddling it to the public, residing at Talapady and other surrounding areas. The accused has been remanded to 15 days’ judicial custody, police sources said.
