Moodbidri: The Mangaluru police, it is believed to have traced the whereabouts of Moodbidri girl Priyanka, who went missing two days ahead of her marriage slated on December 11 to Mumbai.
Her sudden disappearance during the wee hours of December 9, reportedly with a guy named Hyder hailing from the same village – Dharegudde as Priyanka had sparked rumors of it being a probable case of love jihad with several Hindu organisation warning of protests in the event police fail to trace her whereabouts immediately.
It is gathered that Priyanka and Hyder were in a relationship sometime ago but were forced to part ways due to opposition from her family who believed their relationship was over for good until Priyanka eloped with Hyder on the night while all others were asleep leaving her family in a lurch. She is said to have taken her idenfication documents viz passport and Aadhar besides gold jewellery.
A team of officials, comprising of police personnel from Panambur and Moodbidri police stations formed to probe the case is said to have successfully traced her location in Mumbai, where she was found along with a youth.
