Goonda Act invoked on pub attack accused Shailesh Ganiga, sent to Ballari jail

Mangaluru: An accused in the Mangaluru pub attack case, Shailesh Ganiga was arrested on Tuesday by the police under attack and sent to Ballari jail. Shailesh had surrendered to police three days back.

Shantharam, Bunder police inspector, taking into account the cases against Shailesh, which include more than 10 cases including rioting and attempts of murders, advised his higher officers to invoke goonda act against him. ACP Tilakchandra and DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil too recommended the same advice.

Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar ordered the invocation of Goonda Act against Shailesh. Accordingly, the arrest was made and he was sent to Ballari jail on Tuesday.
