Belthangady: Minister for Muzrai Rudrappa Manappa Lamani has cleared the air stating that there are no proposals before the government to take control of any Math or Temple in the state.
Addressing the reporters in Dharmasthala on Monday, Lamani said that neither is there a proposal to take control of Kudroli Sri Gokarnatheshwara Temple in Mangaluru nor to appoint Endowment officer to Sri Ramachandrapura Math.
“However, with regard to the Math some individuals have moved court and in this connection, the Court has sought opinion of the Government, to which the government counsel will respond,” he said adding that the government has ordered formation of Committee in all the 60 A and B category temples. Out of the 60 temples six have moved court against the same and procured stay order. Rest of the temple have decided to go ahead with the appointments.
