Dharmasthala: At a State level convention of gram panchyath employees held at Dharmasthala Gram Panchyath (GP) auditorium, GP leaders listed their demands seeking more benefits and regularization of their services in quick time from state government on August 21.
Their demands include creating service guidelines in the department, service security, creating additional posts of accounts assistant and filling the same using existing employees, reducing the promotion period from 10 to 7 years among others. They also demanded that the GP employees must be considered while filling vacancies in state government and prevent irregularities in the recruitment process by appointing a special officer at Zilla Panchyath level to take care of employees salaries, benefits and recruitment.
Speaking on the occasion the Belthangadi GP employees union president Deviprasad Bolma said, unions have to be formed at taluk level created by GP employees of respective taluks in all taluks of the state.
Four retired personalities from Panchyath raj department were felicitated on the occasion. They are Dharmasthal PDO Rathnaraj Hegde, Bethangadi TP Asst. director Ronald Serrao, Ujire GP PDO Sushila Hegde, TP account superintendent Leelavathi.
Belthangadi TP employees union president Devi Prasad Bolma was felicitated on the occasion for his struggle in ensuring minimum wages to all state GP employees after communicating with state Labour minister Anil Lad.
Few senior employees, PDO’s of different state GP’s, few TP employee union presidents were present on the occasion.
