Belthangady: A day after an audio of a conversation between a woman and a Belthangady Police Inspector went viral on social media it is gathered that the matter has been mutually resolved between the parties involved.
Reportedly, the woman who resides in Mumbai had ordered food for a family function held at Belthangady from ‘Halli Mane’, a hotel owned by a man identified as Praveen. Later, the lady who alleged that the food served at the function was below-average left an online review on the social media whereafter the hotel-owner is said to have approached the police to file a complaint against her.
In the purported conversation, that went viral on Whatsapp, the inspector was found questioning the lady on her review and why she didn’t file a complaint with the department concerned if she found the food quality below par. The lady, who claims to hold a law degree can be heard telling the inspector that he should have done some fact-checking on the hotel owner, alleging that he threatens people to extract his catering bill amount if they question him about the food quality. Moreover, she says that since she had posted a review online, which she has a right to express, she should not be subjected to harassment over the issue. After a tense argument, the lady even tells the circle inspector that he can ask the complainant to drag her to court if he thinks her comment was false.
However, it is now gathered that the parties to the incident including the inspector have resolved the issue.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, Belthangady inspector Sandesh confirmed that he had spoken to the lady after the hotel owner filed a complaint. “Now both- hotel owner and the lady have settled the matter. The case is resolved,” he said.
