Mangaluru: Condemning the brutal murder of senior Kannada journalist and social activist Gauri Lankesh, former Union minister B Janardhan Poojary demanded the state government to hand over the case to CBI for a detailed probe.
Addressing a press meet in Mangalore, Poojary said that murder of Gauri Lankesh was a pre-planned plot.
“Progressive thinkers like Narendra Dhabolkar, Pansare and Kalburgi were also murdered in the same way, which is a painful thing. Guilty should be punished,” he said.
On BJP leaders holding Mangaluru Chalo rally demanding Ramanath Rai’s resignation, Poojary said that Ramanath Rai has failed to show his responsibility as a minister. “Why can’t he apologize ? People of Karanataka will forgive him if he apologises,” Poojary said.
