Belthangady: Ministers have often landed in controversies for misusing their power or bending rules for their own convenience. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah too has been at the centre of many such controversies, the latest being his stay at the Shantivana Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital near Dharmasthala where he is undergoing a naturopathy treatment.
Since his arrival at Shantivana on June 16, the place has been frequented by several ministers including deputy chief minister Parameshwara, Revanna and others thus disturbing the sanctity of the centre.
Notably, anyone visiting the Shantivana has to abide by its rules and regulations such as follow the prescribed diet, no outsider’s visits etc and the same rules are applicable to the former CM too.
However, in contradiction to these rules, the frequent visits by leaders of the coalition government here suggest that the centre has probably turned into a den where the ministers are discussing their political strategy.
Few of Siddaramaiah’s followers are said to have been bringing the Prasadam from poojas offered at temples for Siddaramaiah’s well-being. Interestingly, Siddaramaiah who is known to be an atheist has been accepting the Prasadam.
Moreover, the constant presence of the media to cover any political development too is also adding to the woes of others who are undergoing treatment here.
