Bengaluru: The impediment to the Mangaluru City Corporation Mayoral election has been cleared with the High Court dismissing a Writ Petition (WP) seeking stay on the election.
The High Court of Karnataka, on Wednesday, February 8 dismissed the petition filed by JD(S) Corporator Abdul Azeez who had questioned the reservation policy. With this the election for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be held on March 12 as planned earlier. The post of Mayor has been reserved for woman and deputy mayor has been reserved for Scheduled Caste.
