Uppinangady: Days after movement of heavy vehicles on the Shiradi Ghat stretch on Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75, was restricted for completion of pending construction works, vehicular movements resumed from August 1 midnight.
DC Sasikanth Senthil issued a notice to concerned departments in this regard. Following the instructions, police have removed the barricades that had been installed in Gundiya and Maani to facilitate movements of heavy vehicles in the Ghat.
It may be recalled that nearly six months after Shiradi Ghats were closed for repair works, the road was re-opened for vehicular movements on Sunday, July 15. Later Deputy Commissioner has restricted movement of heavy vehicles on the Shiradi Ghat for construction of safety retaining walls.
