Puttur: The Dzone Crew from Puttur will be representing India at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and they need your help to get them there!
Choreographer Deekshith Raj and dancers Nikhil Mascarenhas and Gagandeep, members of the Dzone Crew, qualified for the contest by winning the silver medal at the Indian Hip-Hop Dance Championship 2019 held between May 7 and 11 in Goa.
The international level Hip-Hop dance competition will be held between August 5 and 10. More than 4,000 dancers from around 50 countries will be participating in this contest. This is a chance for these small-town boys to compete against the world’s best dancers and to get there, the team will have to bear expenses of Rs 8 to 9 lakhs, to which end they have started a fundraiser on Ketto.org.
However, the guys are running out of time quick as their visas will be processed next week.
Speaking to Newskarnataka.com, Deekshith said, “We need between Rs 8 to 9 lakhs for the expenses. We have started a fundraiser on Ketto.org but have not been able to raise much funds for now and we are running out of time as our visas need to be processed. Tomorrow we will be going to meet MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and D V Sadananda Gowda for help.”
The team has been through a lot over the years and their ‘never-say-die’ attitude has brought them a long way. Let’s help them reach their goal of representing India and bringing home the gold.
