Hemanth Nimbalkar takes charge as IGP (Western Range)

Mangaluru: Hemanth Nimbalkar took charge as the new Inspector General of Police (Western Range) on Wednesday, August 16 from outgoing IGP P Harisekaran at the IG Office in Mangaluru.

Nimbalkar, a 1998 batch IPS officer was the additional Commissioner of Police (East) Bengaluru. Harisekaran has been transferred as IGP Bengaluru Head Quarters.

Harisekaran had taken charge as the IGP (Western Range) in December 2016 and has had a short stint as the IG (Western Range).

Nimbalkar had served as the SP of Anti-Terror Squad, SP of Chikkamagaluru, Belagavi, ADGP (internal SEcurity) Joint Commissioner of Police Bengaluru, DIG (Fire and Services) and also as IGP Economic Offences Wing of the CID
