Mangaluru: A group of Hindu students wore saffron scarves in protest of Muslim women wearing hijabs in class at the City’s Aikala Pompei College.
According to sources, the incident happened on Wednesday January 5. The college administration is said to have suspended classes for the day as a precautionary move to avoid any untoward incidents.
Hindu students demanded that if Muslim girls can wear hijab, they should be permitted to wear saffron shawls as well.
