Hoigebail in Yeyyadi declared as COVID-19 Containment Zone

Mangaluru: After a 55-year-old woman from Hoigebail in the Yeyyadi area tested positive for Covid-19, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh declared the specific area of Hoigebail an active ‘Containment Zone’.

The Containment Area is bound on the East by an empty house, on the West by Yamuna’s house, on the North by a hill and on the South by Lalitha’s house. A total of 14 houses come in the Containment Zone and the total population of this zone is 48.

Further, the buffer zone around the containment zone will be an area of five kms. This buffer zone is bound by Padeel in the East, NMPT in the West, Marakada in the North and Car street Mangaluru in the South. A total of 23,600 residential houses, 4650 shops and 98 offices come under this buffer zone. For the effective implementation of the Covid-19 control measures, an executive engineer from the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has been appointed as the incident Commander who will be overall in-charge of the containment zone and will take the necessary actions, the DC said in a press release.
