Mangaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state general secretary and MLA C T Ravi clarified that he did not use any derogatory word against women, as claimed by Udupi district in-charge Minister Jayamala.

It is said that, in a public meeting Ravi was condemning people who ask votes in the name of caste and went on to make a specific derogatory remark against women. Clarifying the same on Monday, in Mangaluru, CT Ravi said that when he was speaking in the meeting, he asked people what exactly can someone who stoops to level of seeking votes in the name caste be called and it was the people who suggested a particular word. “I had only repeated the word, ” Ravi clarified.

However, the remark did not go down well with Udupi District in-charge Minister Dr Jayamala, who said that CT Ravi’s tongue was just like footwear.

Retorting to her comment, Ravi has said that she must first look at her own leaders like C M Ibrahim and Siddaramaiah, who always use derogatory words on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Are you ready to compare them to pigs or sewage worms,” he questioned and suggested to her to hold classes to her leaders.

“She must hold classes for Siddaramaiah and others on using proper language. She must hold some classes for Rahul Gandhi as well, who cannot pronounce even names of great men like Vishweshwaraiah, Basavanna and Kanakadasa,” he said also poking a joke at RaGa, asking Jayamala to send some ‘Baje’ (a herb used for toddlers to improve their speech) for Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, C T Ravi predicted that the BJP would secure over 23 seats in the Lok Sabha election. “H D Kumaraswamy would not continue as the chief minister of the state as the leaders like M B Patil, Siddaramaiah among others have already fixed time bomb to the chair of Kumaraswamy. After the result of the Lok Sabha election, coalition government would be rooted out”, Ravi predicted.

BJP indulged in personality worship, not person worship

When asked about his response over RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s statement that seeking votes in the name of Modi is not good, Ravi clarified that the BJP is indulging in personality worship, not person worship. “We like the personality of Modi and he is like a ‘sun’ to us. Hence, we use Modi in our campaign”.

Withdraw the manifesto

C T Ravi asked the Congress party to change the election manifesto claiming that the decision of amending the Act in Congress’s election manifesto that grants special powers to the Indian Armed Forces in ‘insurgency-hit’ areas is anti-national.

MLAs Dr Bharath Shetty, D Vedavyas Kamath and other leaders like Nithin Kumar, Kishore Kumar among others were present.
