Mangaluru: Mangaluru MLA and former state minister U T Khader on Saturday, urged the authorities of the district to carry out a scientific analysis of the five COVID-19 deaths in Dakshina Kannada. He said that this is needed to find out the truth behind why a district such as ours, which has good healthcare facilities, has reported five deaths due to the novel coronavirus.

Pointing out to the fact that the district has seen a sudden surge in COVID-19 cases, Khader urged the district administration to place the facts regarding the current status of the situation before the public.

The Congress leader also stressed that the details regarding the source of the virus and the future action plan should be made known to the people.

He added that lapses, if any, in dealing with comorbidity factors should be addressed.

Speaking further, he said that efforts need to be made to find the source of the COVID-19 outbreak at the First Neuro Hospital in Padil.
