Bantwal: A team led by tahsildar seized around 360 truckloads of sand stored illegally at Siddakatte Mugeru near Sangabettu of Bantwal taluk on August 26th.
Based on definite tip off Tahsildar Purandar Hegde led a team of officials from different departments. Girish Mohan from mines and geology,Arun Prakash from public work department, Revenue inspector Naveen , Village accountant Satish accompanied the tahsildar during the raid along with other staff from the revenue department.
A case has been registered but the whereabouts of the owners who stocked sand is not known yet. Officials are trying to gather more information to trace them and further investigations are in progress.
