Mangaluru: St Aloysius College (Autonomous) in association with the Mangalore Bicycle Club, Sahyadri Sanchaya, D.K. Bus Operators Association and Mangalore Forest Range organised a “Cyclo-Walkathon” for a Pollution Free Mangaluru on December 9 at 6.30 AM.
Chief Guest Prof. Rohan Fernandes, Associate Professor of English, Srinivas University College of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru flagged off the Cyclothon. President of the event and Rector of St Aloysius Educational Institutions Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz, SJ flagged of the Walkathon.
The principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Rev Dr Praveen Martis, SJ welcomed the gathering.
Mangaluru Range Forest Officer Shridhar, Chief Traffic Warden Chief Joe Gonsalves, Traffic Warden Mary Periera, Registrar of SAC Dr A M Narahari, Convenor Claret Periera, Prof Alwyn D’Sa were present. Manoj Fernandes compered the program.
The walkathon went through St Aloysius College, Bunts Hostel, PVS Circle, Ballalbagh, Mannagudda, Ladyhill, Urwa Store (U-Turn), Ladyhill, Lalbagh, PVS Circle, Karangalpady and ended at the St Aloysius College Centenary Ground. Hundreds of SAC students and like-minded citizens participated in this unique event.
