Kasaragod: A young man who went missing from his home in Kasaragod mysteriously has been now traced to Afghanistan.

As per family members of Hafizuddin from Padanna here, they have received a whatsapp message from the missing youth stating that he is in Afghanistan. It is believed that the message has been sent from Tora Bora in Afghanistan, a pocket which was once a stronghold of Taliban, from the mobile number that Hafizuddin was using while he was in Kerala.

However, the purpose of the youth leaving to Afghanistan has not yet been ascertained. Couple of weeks ago the case of over 17 youth going missing from Kasaragod alone came to light and it was later suspected that the youth may have fled to join some terror organisations.

Since several of the missing youth have sent whatsapp messages to their family members, the investigating agencies have not been able to reach to the root as they have not been able to contact the youth on the numbers from which they have sent messages.

All in all, the missing cases in Kasaragod alone and Kerala state as a whole has turned out to be a major mystery for the police department.
