Mangaluru: The City Police on Tuesday, April 17 arrested an accused in connection with the murder of Target Ilyas from Mahakalipadpu.
The arrested is Ummar Navaf alias Navaf alias Maya. Police have confiscated a sword and a bike which was used for the crime.
Earlier the police have arrested Dawood,, Mohammed Samir, Mohammed Nasir, Riyaz and Namir Hamza in connection to the case.
Navaf went absconding after the murder of Ilyas. A resident of Ullal, presently Navaf is residing at Manjeshwara,Kerala.
Accused Navaf has seven cases including murder attempt, robbery and dacoity in Ullal and Manjeshwara police station.
It may be recalled that Ilyas, leader of Ullal’s notorious target group had been murdered in broad daylight near Jeppu, here on January 13.
