Mangaluru: The entire world has accepted yoga today and it has a scientific as well as practical advantage, said Mangalore University Yoga Science Department head Dr K Krishna Sharma.
He was speaking at a workshop organised by the Mangala Alumni Association of Yogic Sciences and Avishkara Yoga (Mangaluru) in Pumpwell.
“Whoever is learning about yoga science must also be familiar with the practical knowledge and principals of yoga. Otherwise, it is not possible to get an education in yoga itself,” he said.
Sharma also said that it was necessary to adopt changes for the essential growth of yoga as a profession.
Corporator Sandeep Garodi was the chief guest of the event. Earlier, Mangala Alumni Association of Yogic Sciences President NK Hiregowda welcomed the gathering and Avishkar Yoga Director Kushalappa Gowda delivered the vote of thanks.
Mangalore University Yoga Department lecturer Dr Ajitheesh NH compered the programme.
