India is rich, Indians are poor: Governor P.B Acharya

Mangaluru: “Education should broaden our mindsets to realize that all of us are Indians and all of us are united as one nation”, said Governor of Assam and Nagaland P.B Acharya.

He was speaking after inaugurating NAMASTE- Centre for study of North-Eastern states, at K S Hegde Auditorium Deralakatte on Thursday, November 26.

“The country should recognize the people of North-East and their issues. Even though the North-East region is rich in resources, they lack in proper utilization of it”, he added.

Chancellor of Nitte University N.V Hegde glanced upon the connectivity between Nitte University and the North-East students through the NAMASTE scheme. He also added that the Governor of Assam and Nagaland, himself took the first initiative to establish NAMASTE.

Vice Chancellor of Nitte University Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty, Prof. Moodithaya, Mrs. Kavita Acharya, Dr M Shantharam Shetty were present among others.
