Mangaluru: “Journalists work selflessly towards the society and adhere to social commitment thus their health is very important as there are few people in this world who work for others” said city Mayor Mahabala Marla after inaugurating the free Health Check-up for Journalists on Wednesday January 28.
Indiana hospital and heart institute in the association with DK working journalists association Mangaluru is organizing a free health check-up exclusively for the working journalists that were inaugurated by the Mayor at the press club. Addressing the gathering the Mayor Marla praised the initiative and requested the present journalists to make use of the programme.
“I believe prevention is better than cure”, said Dr Yusuf Kumble MD of Indiana Hospital. He said that these days the younger generation is falling for crucial illnesses that are out of their age group. Thus it is the responsibility of every individual to take precautionary measures.
“Journalists work in a stressed environment, which may affect their health thus they must take part in this free Health Check-up, he requested.
The welcome speech was given by Bhaskar Aras, Jaganath Shetty Bala – president of working journalists association presided over the programme, Vote of thanks was delivered by president of Press Club – Ramakrishna and other staffs were present.
