Indigo Airlines files case against M’luru bomb-scare accused for hoax call

Mangaluru: Indigo Airlines officials informed that the company has lodged a case against Mangaluru bomb-scare accused Aditya Rao for a hoax call that he made to the airline office informing that he had planted a bomb on an Indigo Airlines flight.

The senior officials of the airlines lodged a case at Bajpe station and an FIR stands registered against Rao.

The incident took place on Monday, January 20 at 2:30 pm. Following the threat call, a Hyderabad-bound Indigo flight returned to Mangaluru International Airport and all the passengers were grounded. After inspection, the flight departed to its destination and was delayed by atleast one hour.

A total of 126 passengers were on board the Mangaluru-Hyderabad flight. All of them were requested to alight from the plane, causing a lot of inconvenience to the passengers.

Now, the airline company has accused Rao of making the hoax call.

On the same day, CISF personnel found an explosive on the Mangaluru International Airport premises. Aditya Rao surrendered before the police on Wednesday, January 22, and is now in custody of Mangaluru police.
