Kasargod: An inter-state thief has been nabbed by the Neeleshwar police in connection to several theft cases that took place in Kerala and Karnataka.
Shaju(45) from Panathur in Hosadurga taluk is the arrested.
The accused revealed to Neeleshwara Circle Inspector Dhananjay Babu during questioning that he was involved in gold theft from gulf employee Abdul Rehman’s house in Delampady. Two other accused too were involved in theft cases with him.
He has confessed to have stolen gold from one T V Sudhikumar’s house in South Trikkaripura and selling it in Karnataka. He is said to have involved in 15 theft cases that took place in Kallikote district in 2011-12.
Police have launched a manhunt for his aides and the key accused. It is learnt that the key accused is said to have involved in more than 50 theft cases. Police sources said that they used to use bikes for the purpose.
