Puttur: BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari, who had created controversy with his statement, apologized by offering Tappu Kanike (offering in money to mend mistake) at Koti Chennayya’s moolakshethra (original place) Padumale on February 12.
He offered “Kai Kanike” (offering) at the Samadhi Sthala (Tomb) of Deyi Baidethi (Mother of Koti Chennaya), situated at Padumale, Puttur Taluk. He offered prayers to “Suvarana Kedage”, Deyi Baidethi at Kuvethota.
“My statements have hurt the sentiments of Billava Community. In this context, I have come to Moolakshetra at Padumale and sought apology. The holy twin warriors should grace me pardon. I have realized that my statement on the warriors was wrong,” he said.
He prayed and sought blessings to gain pardon for his mistake.
