Bantwal: Days after state government ordered CID probe into murder of Congress leader Abdul Jaleel Karopady, officials have visited the gram panchayat and sought information in this regard on September 25.
Jaleel’s father Usman Karopady, addressing the media said, “The CID SP Anand and SP Sujith-led team visited Karopady Gram Panchayat and sought details about the incident from the PDO and staff on Monday. They also visited our house and collected information. Though Dinesh Shetty, Vinod and Pradeep have been named as prime accused, the cops have failed to arrest them.”
“I have told CID officials that the cops have been shielding the prime accused. I have also informed about underworld don Vikky Shetty’s threat call regarding vice president’s post and sought immediate arrest of the accused. The officials have assured to nab the culprits,” he added.
It may be recalled that Korapady Taluk Panchayat Vice President Jaleel Karopady was brutally murdered by motorbike-borne masked assailants on April 20. Police have arrested 11 of the underworld don Vicky Shetty’s aides in connection with the case.
