Mangaluru: State Minister for Women and Child Development and Udupi District In-charge Minister Jayamala has called out Bharatiya Janata Party leader C T Ravi for his derogatory comments on women and questioned him whether he had a tongue or footwear in his mouth.
Speaking to reporters at the district Congress office on Tuesday, April 16, Jayamala condemned the controversial remarks of C T Ravi on women during an election rally at Chikkamagalur. “Do you need only women to criticise? If Ravi had said this to his own mother also, it is condemnable. No mother can forgive him for his remarks. Is it Ravi’s tongue or footwear spoke?”, she questioned.
Meanwhile, Jayamala informed that she will complain to the Election Commission in this regard. “C T Ravi doesn’t know how to respect women and he should gain knowledge on the same. Hence, we will send him two books on the importance of respecting women through courier.”
Meanwhile, Jayamala questioned the BJP leaders why should people vote for them, citing that the promises made by them during the 2014 elections had not been fulfilled yet. “BJP has cheated the public with its false promises. They don’t have any right to seek votes from the public”, she stressed.
Pointing at the price hike of grocery items during Modi’s rule, Jayamala said, Modi spends 51 per cent of funds to glorify his projects and schemes. But, he has no money for the welfare of poor people. The price hike of domestic gas is a clear example for that. Modi has proved during his five years administration that he is in favour of corporate companies. The recent I-T raid on the houses of both Congress and JDS leaders indicates his hate politics”, she said.
