Mangaluru: Close on the heels of local body elections, the Dakshina Kannada unit of JD(S) on Wednesday, November 25, made it clear that it would be staging a comeback as it has decided to field candidates at all levels.
Informing this to the media, DK district President of the JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi Vittala said that the party would field each candidate in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for the Zilla Panchayat posts. He said that the decision was taken during a recent district level party meeting. He also said that it would join hands with secular and leftists and work towards development under the leadership of Amarnath Shetty.
Slamming both, the BJP and the Congress, Kunhi said that as many as 14 murders were executed over the last two months in the district and that extortion, theft and ganja peddling cases were on the rise. However, the ruling position hasn’t been efficient enough to nab the culprits. He alleged that both the BJP and the Congress were working hand in gloves and the district is completely governed by the saffron outfits.

Meanwhile, the party has chosen one of its members, Chengappa, as its Spokesperson and Ram Ganesh as the General Secretary in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
