Mangaluru: The last date for disposal of files pertaining to rectification to the RTC, through Kandaya Adalat has been extended to September 30, said Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Revenue Pramodh Madhwaraj.
Addressing a meeting in DC’s Office, Mangaluru on June 4, he said that though the last date for the same was March 31, he had personally made attempts to extend the same on request from the officials concerned. He said that till March 31 as many as 375 Kandaya Adalat were held and a total of 31,293 applications were settled. Another 5,174 applications are pending.
Deemed Forest land handed over to Revenue Dept
In a positive development, Madhwaraj said that a total of 86,115 acres of land out of 1,54,262 acres of land in the district which was considered as Deemed Forest has been handed over to Revenue Department. This, he said would be of great help in rehabilitating the siteless and also for the development of the district in future.
An area of 68146 acres have been earmarked as Deemed Forest as of now.
Complaint against Heggade’s family
During the meet, Madhwaraj said that a complaint against the family members of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade has been received. The complaint states that Dr Heggade’s family has violated the Land Reforms Act and has encroached a land. Madhwaraj said that the matter will be looked into.
