Kannada news channel video journalist loses life to dengue

Mangaluru: A video journalist attached to a Kannada TV channel lost his life to dengue late on Sunday, July 21 night.

The deceased is identified as Nagesh Padu (34), a resident of Padu village in Neermarga and a video journalist working with BTV channel. According to his diagnosis, he was ailing from the illness for a while and was being treated for the same at KMC Hospital here. Unfortunately, he failed to respond to the treatment and died as a result.

He is survived by his father, mother, wife and child.

It is learnt that Nagesh, along with three other persons, had been to Jeppu as several other people there were suffering from dengue. All four fell ill upon their return, however, the other three recovered. Nagesh was diagnosed with dengue and admitted to the hospital a few days ago.

According to those close to Nagesh, he was a friendly person and soft-spoken.
