Bantwal: A rickshaw driver has been detained by Vittal police in connection with brutal murder of a youth in Kanyana on Sunday.
Mohammad Iqbal alias Ikku (24) a resident of Poyyagadde in Kanyana village is the arrested.
On Sunday, Nappate Rafeeq and his associates brutally murdered Paivalike Asif and assaulted Hakeem and Riyaz. After the crime, the culprits escaped from the spot with the help of a rickshaw owned by Iqbal. He has been detained for allegedly helping the culprits.
Vittal police had arrested Iqbal in March for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor who was studying in a school in Kanyana. He was later released on bail.
A gang had hacked Asif to death and injured two of his friends on Sunday.
