Mangaluru: The Karnataka Coast Guards District Headquarters 3, as part of its 41st Raising Day (which will be observed on 01 February 2018), organised “A Day at Sea” with local media personnel here on Friday, January 19.
After a very short sea expedition in Hovercraft from Panambur to Sasihithlu, arranged as part of “A Day at Sea with Scribes,” Deputy Inspector General S S Dasila, Commander, Coast Guards, Karnataka, informed that CG district HQ 3 had planned a range of activities accordingly from January 24 to commemorate the 41st Raising Day of ICG.
To commemorate 40 years of existence, a series of events like blood donation camp, students’ visit to Coast Guards, Day at Sea, Cycle Rally, Troops get-together, Coastal Security Week are being conducted and the officers of the Coast Guards will visit schools and colleges and hoist the flag. Many of these events are specifically intended for interaction with the general populace of Karnataka and sharing their aspiration and concerns, he added.
He also asserted that the Coast Guards district head quarters will also hold a day at Sea for State and Central government officials in coming days.
The service of Coast Guards right from its inception has saved 7,890 lives and arrested 13161 offenders.
