Mangaluru: The younger sister of slain RTI activist Vinayak Baliga has demanded investigation against 14 including Samyamindra Teertha Swamiji in connection with his murder case.
Anuradha Baliga has filed an interim application in the III Additional Magistrate Court in the city to investigate Samyamindra Teertha Swamiji of Kashi Matt and others in the case.
Naresh Shenoy was paid a supari of Rs 30 Lakh to kill her brother by Swamiji and others and use money power to influence police and change the course of probe, Anuradha Baliga has accused. Vinayak Baliga, complaining of financial irregularities amounting to crores of rupees in the Kashi Matt owned Venkatramana temple at Car Street had led to his death.
Vinayak Baliga’s letter to Umesh Mallya alias Samyemindra Tirtha Swamy, seeking an inquiry into the allegations spelt death knell for her brother, Anuradha feels.
Anuradha has urged for fresh probe against the accused Swamiji and 14 others and claimed to have sufficient evidence against them.
Jagannath Kamath, an auditor, a retired bank employee C L Shenoy, Gold merchant Ravindra Nikam, Businessmen Suresh Kamath , Vignesh Kamath, G V Kamath, Chetan Kamath, Swamiji’s car driver Vijayananda Shenoy of Bantwal, Shakha Matt Secretary K Narayan Shenoy of Bengaluru, Vedavyasa Kamat, Vishwanath Bhat, Hanumanth Kamath and Karkala Radhamadhava Shenoy are named as co-accused in the interim petition filed by Anuradha Baliga in the court.
The court hearing on the petition is scheduled on June 26. Swamiji was unavailable for comment but one of his close aides confirmed him of abiding by the court decision.
