Vitla: On Wednesday, residents highlighted an operation in which toilet and hospital waste from Kasaragod, Kerala, was being transported to Karnataka using a Karnataka vehicle. Consequently, the waste was discarded in an isolated location along the Kalladka-Kanhangadu highway at Ukkuda.

Recently, an incident of waste disposal similar to the one in Kepu village along Chelladka Amai Road occurred. This drew the attention of local residents, prompting the panchayat to report the occurrence to the Vitla police.

The public chased the vehicle upon noticing that it was returning to Karnataka from a Kasaragod hospital with garbage. The vehicle was stopped at Ukkuda and handed over to the police.

The situation has escalated to the extent that the road itself has turned into a dumping ground for toilet waste, forcing people to cover their noses as they pass by. The public has raised this concern multiple times. Furthermore, the public alleges that the growth of all these issues is due to the negligence of the Vitla police.
