Moodibidri: Kerala known as God’s Own Country came alive during “Keraleeyam-2018”, a special event organised to showcase Kerala’s diverse culture inside Alva’s College campus.
Annie Libu as chief guest lauded Alva’s efforts to present the God’s Own Country in its best form. “The event gives true glimpses of Kerala for a non-resident Indian like me and even students from the neighbouring state feel at home,” she said. Events of this kind help Alva’s institutions draw more students from Kerala, she opined.
The programme started with the traditional procession followed by Tiruvathira, Margam Kali, Oppana, Mohinyattam, Poorakkali, Shinagari Melam, Kalari fight, Kathakali, the various cultural and dance forms of Kerala.
Alva’s Group Founder President Dr. M Mohan Alva, Degree College Principal Dr. Kurian, Principal of Alva’s Homeopathy College Dr. Praveen Raj, Nursing College Principal Dr. Yathikumar Swamy Gowda and Physiotherapy College Principal Dr. Joseph Oliver Raj were present at the event.
