Mangaluru: With an aim to provide a solution to the problem of land conversion in the city, State Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader has asked the district in-charge secretary and deputy commissioner to submit a report within three days.
Addressing a press meet on June 25, Khadar said, “I have directed District In-charge Secretary Ponnuraju and Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil to solve the problems pertaining to revenue department in the city by holding a meeting with various stakeholders and also asked them to submit the report by three days.”
“Smart City project will be implemented on a war-footing. These projects should be a role model for the entire country. Public participation is also equally important in materialising these projects. The managing director of Mangaluru Smart City Limited will be heading the implementation of the projects and he will be held accountable. Managing director should hold a review meeting once in 15 days,” Khadar said.
Khadar also informed that there was a plan to develop interior roads which connect to the national highway. To construct a four-lane road from Thokottu-via Mahakalipadpu- Jeppinamogaru- Morgansgate, all the representatives along with the MP concerned will meet the union railway minister and urge him to provide the grant. “The central and state governments would share the cost at a 50:50 ratio. If we don’t get a grant from the union government, state government and MCC, we will look for an alternative solution for the problem,” he added.
