Mangaluru: Though the elections in Karnataka were held smoothly on May 12, there are always ways to improve the system of election. With this in mind, State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader announced on May 14, that he would write a letter to the Election Commission suggesting bringing about more transparency in the election process.
Addressing a press meet, Khader alleged that the voter’s slips distributed by the EC do not mention the door number of voters. This loophole could be used by fake voters to their advantage, he added.
“In many places the voter’s slip has not reached the people. Instead the BLOs handed it through political representatives. In these cases there will be chances of manipulation of votes and fake votes”, he alleged.
“I will write a letter to election commission to bring transparency in the election process”, Khader said.
U T Khader also thanked his party workers and well-wishers for tirelessly working during the elections.
“I have served as State Minister Health and Family Welfare for two years and three years as Minister for Food and Civil Supplies. Several projects have been implemented during my tenure and they became role model to other states to emulate.”
Answering reporters, Khader also expressed that the Congress would win all the eight constituencies in the district.
