Belthangady: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy lost his life after falling under the wheels of his own school van, right outside his residence on Thursday.
The deceased is Tauheed, a Kindergarten students of Karunya English Medium School of Kakinje.
The blame has now come on the school administration and the school van driver for the same as it is noted that there are three school vans run by the school and none of the vans have conductors, despite the fact that little children are ferried in the vans. On Thursday evening too, Tauheed and gone to school and returned in the same van. But, after dropping the boy at his residence at Charmadi, which is the last stop for the said van. In a haste, immediately after dropping the boy, the van driver took a reverse, crushing the boy under the wheel. While he we was clueless about the incident, the van driver had left the spot.
The family and the locals say that the incident could have been averted if the van had a conductor.
