Mangaluru: The 68th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in KIOCL Township with great pomp and grandeur throughout the month. After worshipping Goddess Bhubaneswari in the early morning of 1 Nov, the Chief General Manager I/C Mangalore RD Prabhu hoisted the flag. As per the government guidelines, Kannada songs were sung melodiously by all assembled during the function.
There was an attractive tableau procession depicting the famous Kannada personalities along with Chende Maddale’s Performance in procession by the Kudremukh Kannada Kala Sangh. The Rangoli was drawn with the image of the Karnataka map on the ground. Red/yellow kites and balloons floated in the sky adding to the beauty of the aura.
Employees and family members participated very enthusiastically in several Kannada activities conducted by Kudremukh Kannada Kala Sangh throughout November.
A group dance competition “Nritya Vaibhav” was organized for Government school children in the closing ceremony at the twilight hour on 30 Nov at Nehru Bhavan, KIOCL Township. Vasanth Kumar Perla, Retired Program Manager and Head of Mangalore Radio was the Chief Guest at the stage function held later.
In the ceremony, Perla and one more eminent Kannada writer and music teacher Smt. Savitri was honoured by Kudremukh Kannada Sangh for their immense services in the field of Kannada. Prizes were distributed to the winners of Rangoli and drawing competitions conducted in various categories during this month and prizes were distributed to the winners of the dance competition also.
On the dais, apart from the Chief Guest, RD Prabhu, Chief General Manager Incharge Mangalore, Chief General Manager (Production) and President Kudremukh Sports and Entertainment Committee, P. Palani, General Manager (PP and PF) and Honorary President, Kudremukh Kannada Sangh, Deepak Poojary, Assistant General Manager PF (Operations) and President, Kudremukh Kannada Sangh, Shri Avinash NA, Senior Manager (HR and A) and Program Coordinator Chetan K. Shetty, Chairman, KIOCL Welfare SC/ST Welfare Association Subash Rathod were present. Avinash welcomed everyone, Chetan K Shetty presented the Vote of Thanks and YS Kattimani compered the program.
The senior officers of the organization, employees, their families and Central CISF and their dependents were present.
