Mangaluru:  KPCC working president Saleem Ahmed announced that the AICC plans to designate a minister and senior party leaders as observers for each parliamentary constituency. Their role will be to collect feedback from party members regarding potential candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan in Mallikatte within the city, he mentioned that the Yuva Nidhi scheme is scheduled for implementation in December. He also expressed optimism about the Congress securing over 20 seats in the state, encompassing the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituencies.

We have made a request to the high command to announce the candidates at least six months ahead of the elections. The AICC will shortly unveil the roster of party observers for each constituency. This time, we anticipate that India will witness a change in leadership, with Rahul Gandhi assuming the role of Prime Minister. Over the past nine and a half years, the government led by Narendra Modi has failed to fulfill the promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh into people’s accounts, which he had claimed during his ascent to power. It is evident that he came into power through false claims.

Despite his promise to generate 2 crore jobs every year, he ended up contributing to the rise in unemployment. The government’s track record in doubling farmers’ income within six years has been unsuccessful. The party will prioritize both districts and devise winning strategies for the elections. Our approaches for contesting in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi will also undergo modifications.

We will also work at the level of individual voting booths to make our party even stronger. The public is eager for change, and their trust in the Congress has grown,” he affirmed.

We are not engaged in any ongoing operations. With a solid majority of 136 MLAs, our party is all set to form a strong and steady government in Karnataka for the upcoming five years. Several BJP and JD(S) leaders have reached out to us. The high command will make a definitive call on their potential inclusion in the party.

The Congress is preparing for the taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections, while the BJP seems focused solely on criticizing the guarantee schemes. He emphasized that the Congress has successfully rolled out four guarantee schemes within just 90 days of assuming power in Karnataka.

In a press conference, the district president of the party, K. Harish Kumar, former secretary B. Ramanath Rai, former legislators J.R. Lobo, Ivan D’Souza, Lakshman Bantwala, Sudarshan Jain, Tejaswi Raj, Shahu Hamid, T.M. Shahid, Sadashiva Ullal, and Jokim D’Souza were present.
