Mangaluru: The Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple has decided to disburse around 1000 health cards to the families of Below Poverty Line (BPL) during the inauguration of Mangaluru Dasara on October 14.
The Temple Management Committee Treasurer Padmaraj R announced this special programme after convening a press conference at Kudroli temple on Monday, October 8. “Though the health cards issued by the government will benefit only those patients receiving treatment as inpatients at the hospital, the `Gokarnanatha Health Card`will help the outpatients too. The cardholders would get around 25 percent concession in the total bill amount. As the temple has a tie-up with the A J hospital in the city, the patients who are receiving treatment as outpatients will receive this benefit”, Padmaraj said and added that H D Kumaraswamy will release and disburse these health cards during the inauguration of Mangaluru Dasara on October 14.
Padmaraj also informed that the Unity Hospital too had come forward to extend its service to the health card. “Though around 1000 health cards will be disbursed during the inauguration of Mangaluru Dasara this year, there is a plan to disburse around 10,000 health cards during the next year’s inauguration. We are trying to tie-up with all major private hospitals in the city to offer medical service through this health card”, he added.
