Kudroli ward receives Rs 1.22 cr grant: MLA Vedavyas Kamath

Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath has said that as per the public demand, Rs 1.22 crore grant had been given for various development works of Kudroli ward, after the Congress rule ended in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).

Kamath, in a press release informed that Rs 60 lakh was released from the Minorities Welfare Department while Rs 10 lakh was released for road-widening at Kambala Cross near Protestant Church. Development works at Karballa Road at a cost of Rs 20 lakh and development works near Vishranthi Nilaya Church at Rs 20 lakh grant have been taken up.

The grant of Rs 10 lakh released from natural calamity funds will be used to repair the embankment of the storm water drain from Barke to Automatrix Apartments. Rs 30 lakh grant given from the Chief Minister’s special grant would be used for the development of Alake market.

Meanwhile, Rs 5 lakh was given for stormwater drain works, another Rs 5 lakh for drain works at Kudroli and Rs 5 lakh for underground drainage works, out of the Rs 15 lakh grants from the MCC fund. Rs 4 lakh was provided to address drinking water problem in the ward while Rs 2.5 lakh was given to fix UGD pipeline issue at Kandathpalli. Another Rs 1.5 lakh was given for drinking water pipe linking work in Kudroli, the press release said.
