Mangaluru: A 19-year-old boy was rescued by the lifeguards at Panambur Beach on Sunday, February 10.
The person, who was rescued by the lifeguards has been identified as Pushparaj, son of Gulab Singh, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. According to the sources, Pushparaj and five others had been to Panambur beach on Sunday noon at around 1 pm. When they were enjoying in the beach, Pusparaj was swept away by the strong currents. Meanwhile, others who accompanied him screamed for help, which led lifeguards to rush to the spot. Later, he was rescued by them, sources said.
Though there is a caution board asking tourists not to step into sea water, it is always ignored by the tourists.
